CrossFit

Our CrossFit program is designed for scalability and applies equally well to all individuals regardless of age or fitness level. By varying the load and intensity, we start you at a level appropriate to your fitness and experience. With commitment and hard work you will achieve greater general fitness and a high degree of athleticism. We take an old­school approach emphasizing fundamental, functional movements with proper technique. You will learn and get fit with ever­changing workouts that combine bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, and a huge variety of high­intensity drills that combine cardio and strength challenges at the appropriate level for each person. The stimulus provided is always varied and the results are dramatic. The atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to anyone willing to put in the work.

Our idea on training is not considered traditional, which makes our workouts fun and different. Workouts are most often completed within group classes, which we try to cap at a maximum of 14 athletes with an average class size of 10. This provides you with the attention from a coach, which is necessary for your safety and success. You will be challenged both mentally and physically in your workouts but will find a great sense of camaraderie with those you are working with.

We believe in training for life and not one specific thing. Training for life means that you have to be prepared for the unknown and even unknowable. Our workouts involve exercises that mimic everyday movements so that you can become stronger and more efficient in day to day activities.

We want to guide you in reaching your potential, which is typically far more than you ever thought you could achieve. Providing you with an encouraging and friendly environment will help to build the CrossFit community in Central Nebraska and enable more people to reach their goals whatever they may be.

Fitness

Ground Up’s Fitness program is designed to offer members a great workout that allows you to burn calories and develop a strong, physically fit body. Members will enjoy the fun, supportive team environment and educated coaches. Fitness workouts focus on using body weight movements and free weights to burn fat, promote muscle growth and develop overall conditioning. Athletes who choose the fitness workouts may stay in the fitness program until they feel they are ready to move on to regular CrossFit classes.

Inspirational Coaching

Our expert certified coaches are trained to motivate, educate and inspire you to achieve your fitness and nutritional goals. They will teach you proper technique in body­weight exercises and other basic skill based movement.

Basic Movements

The Fitness program is based on basic fundamental movements, including the squat, deadlift and press. These are trained without the use of barbells, the pull-­up rig or complex gymnastic movements. You get an efficient, effective, high ­intensity workout without intimidating skills or movements.

Performance

The Performance Program if for anyone wanting to become better at mountain climbing, skiing, and pickup basketball. Excited to be challenged every day inside the workouts, but is also not looking to compete in local or online CrossFit competitions.

Competitor

The Ground Up Competitor Program is designed for those who chose to make CrossFit their competitive sport of choice. Whether your goal is compete in Rx divisions in local competitions, to qualify for the CrossFit Regionals or do well in the CrossFit Open, this program – built around consistency, accountability, and shared suffering – will give you the tools to get there.

Personal Training

Ground Up provides an individualized approach to workout design and goal achievement through customized Personal Training sessions. PT clients can expect a training program tailored to their current fitness abilities and accelerated progress towards their lifestyle, health and fitness goals.

PT is for those who are looking for:

Corrective Exercise

A hands on approach to post surgery rehabilitation, movement assessment and muscle correction from previous injury. Athletes will train to improve functional movement and correct imbalances. This program addresses: muscle dysfunction, injury rehabilitation, movement deficiency and increase muscle coordination.

Fitness

A personal and specific approach to achieving your fitness goals and interests. Athletes train to look better, get faster results and improve overall health. This program will make you: feel healthy, build lean muscle, lose fat, perform better and develop confidence.

Sports Performance

A comprehensive approach for sport and position­ specific strength and conditioning. Athletes will train to enhance abilities and skills required to perform better at their sport. Athletes in this program can expect: Improved speed and power, improved specific sport function, injury prevention, enhanced athleticism and pre­-season, in-­season and post-­season specific training programs.

Youth

Our youth programs share a common goal of increased athletic performance by making the teen athletes more explosive, more powerful, and stronger. By scaling speed, volume, load, and intensity, we can make each session appropriate for any youth utilizing the program.

Ground Up Teens

Ground Up Teens sessions will include older athletes and those that have experience in the CrossFit youth programs and have demonstrated proficiency at movement. These sessions will be focused on strength, explosive speed and power and overall athleticism.

Ground Up Kids

Ground Up Kids focuses on having fun and learning to love fitness.  Kids learn proper mechanics and consistency in a safe, supportive environment.

The Kids program will include athletes who have not yet developed proficiency in movement, need to develop core strength before adding weight or are just not quite ready to begin regular CrossFit. Once these kids have demonstrated proficiency in CrossFit movements, they will be allowed to graduate to the Teens Program. This is solely at the discretion of the coaches and is simply to provide young athletes an environment that is developmentally appropriate and safe.

Ground Up Preschool

CFGU Preschool class is designed for kids ages 3-6.  This class is focused on building a love for exercise, movement and healthy living.  Children learn body awareness and coordination through squats, opposite are and leg coordination, skipping, jumping and grip strength development.  It will progress on to rolling, spinning (vestibular focus) balance and planking (midline stability) and then incorporate fundamental and foundational movements that will be built upon later in life.

This class will be 20-25 minutes in length consisting of a fun warm up, a few minutes focusing on a particular skill or movement, a short workout and finishing with a game.
