PROGRAMS

CROSSFIT

CrossFit workouts are designed for EVERYONE!  Rather than having one workout for older women and another for hardcore athletes – there’s ONE workout each day that is completely scalable based on your skill.  For example, if the workout calls for squats with 135 pounds but you can only do squats with no weight at all, then that’s where you’ll start. If you can’t do squats at all, a similar movement will be substituted, and if the number of reps is too many for your current ability, that will be reduced. As you get stronger, you work toward the best version of you and your ability. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind. That’s right, we have athletes which range from preschool age to grandparents! We support you every step of the way!

CROSSFIT PRE-K

The Pre-K Program is designed to preschool and Kindergarten age CrossFit concepts. These classes are relatively short and the play-based curriculum is entirely geared towards teaching kids to think of exercise as FUN! We work on body awareness and coordination through squats, leg coordination, skipping, jumping, grip strength development, rolling, spinning, balance and planking. These are fundamental and foundational movements that will be built upon later in life. We also work hard on building our muscles:) Classes run on a session basis. All classes are coached by a CrossFit Kids Trainer. 

CROSSFIT KIDS

The Ground Up CrossFit Kids program focuses on having fun and learning to love fitness. This class develops an athletic foundation, yet is for all; not just the ‘sporty’ kids. CrossFit Kids focuses on skills to include foundational and auxiliary movements such as balance, mobility, and endurance, but also has a HEAVY focus on teamwork, self-confidence, respect, working in a group, which are fundamental to a child’s success. The goal of the Kids program is to develop and improve general physical fitness in order to prepare kids to be safe in sports (and in life in general). But, this program still centers on FUN! Classes are scheduled year round, two times a week.

Each class starts with a game, then we work on a skill, then do a workout. When our kiddos leave the gym, they are proud, accomplished, and motivated!

The general age guidelines are kids ages 6-10 although we place kids according to developmental age. All classes are coached by a CrossFit Kids Trainer. 

CROSSFIT PRE-TEENS AND TEENS

The Ground Up Pre-Teen and Teens program is the perfect bridge between the fun of the kid’s class, leading into an increased intensity of the teen class. The focus is to learn proper mechanics and consistency in a safe, supportive environment. This class builds the athletic foundation for all of the participants. It is an excellent way to develop fitness even for those kids who are not ‘sporty’. The goal of the program is to develop and improve general physical fitness in order to prepare to be safe in sports and life in general. But, despite the increased physical demands of the class, the focus of the pre-teen and teen program is still on fun! The workouts are more performance-based and light loads are introduced with the goal of preparing the athletes for the rigors of sport in an age-appropriate setting that will allow the athlete to thrive. Classes are scheduled 2 times per week depending on the time of year.

The general age guidelines are Pre-Teen and Teens aged 11-17, although we place kids based on developmental age. All classes are coached by a CrossFit Kids Trainer. 

LEANFIT

LeanFit is a targeted program that incorporates many different elements of fitness. This is a great combination of HIIT type training with a significant focus on lighter weights, longer workouts, and core work. LeanFit workouts are designed to be highly intense! The core of LeanFit is functional and compound movements which utilize the entire body. These are movements like squats, lunges, push-ups, and other bodyweight movements. For fun we sprinkle in some light weights, rowing, jump roping and running. This methodology can help you develop a lean, defined physique and get your metabolism the jump start it needs! The cherry on top is some intense core work to work on beastly abs! This class meets weekly on Sunday afternoons.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Ground Up provides an individualized approach to workout design and goal achievement through customized Personal Training sessions. PT clients can expect a training program tailored to their current fitness abilities and accelerated progress towards their lifestyle, health and fitness goals.
